What are you hiding from?

One day, many years ago,

I was walking down the street and I saw someone who I had gone to high school and played varsity tennis with.

Filled with dread about the 90 pounds I had gained since the last time we saw each other, I immediately went and hid behind a building column so that they wouldn’t see me.

It wouldn’t have been a life changing experience if I had simply walked up and said hello.

But taking a look at the bigger picture, this was huge.

If I was behaving this way over a simple interaction with someone I already knew,

I was definitely hiding in the rest of my life…

Missing out on tons of potential friends, positive experiences, and financial opportunities.

If you’re carrying a lot of extra weight (or even a little),

Chances are that, in some way, you are hiding yourself from all that the world is offering you.

If you’ve read this far, chances are that you’re tired of living that way, and want to make big changes.

Don’t just find a new plan for diet and exercise.

We talked about that Monday.

It doesn’t work.

The next thing you do isn’t going to be any different if you don’t have a new system in place.

To get out of this one you need to go deep. Take a look at your relationship with food and eating, tear it down, and build it back from the ground up.

Here are some questions to get you started:

How have you been using food as a crutch?

Do you let others dictate your eating patterns more than you would like?

Why have you never been able to stick to a plan and get the results you most want?

Knowing the answers to these is way more important than knowing how many calories in a day you should eat.

Do It Right, and you’ll only have to Do It Once.
